Terms of Service
Last updated August 8, 2026
These terms cover your use of Halftone Generator (including Halftone Generator Studio, the editor at /tool), operated by Damn Good Company. By using the site you agree to them. This is general information, not legal advice — if you need something binding for a specific situation, talk to a lawyer.
1. What Halftone Generator is
Halftone Generator is a browser-based tool for turning artwork into print-ready halftones for DTF, screen print, and vintage-apparel workflows. It's part of the DTF Toolbox suite. Image processing — the halftone rendering itself — happens locally in your browser; we don't upload your source image to a server to generate the preview or export.
2. Accounts
Signing in unlocks saving projects, export history, and HD exports. Today, sign-in and your saved library are stored locally in your browser rather than on a central server — see the Privacy Policy for details. That means your saved projects live on the device and browser you saved them on; clearing your browser storage or switching devices can make them unavailable. Keep your device reasonably secure, since anyone with access to it has access to your saved work while you're signed in.
3. Your artwork and exports
You keep ownership of any artwork you upload and any file you export. We don't claim rights to your images, and we don't use them for anything other than rendering the preview and export you asked for in your own browser session.
You're responsible for having the rights to any artwork you upload and process — don't use Halftone Generator to reproduce or prepare artwork you don't have permission to use.
4. Acceptable use
Use Halftone Generator for its intended purpose: preparing your own (or properly licensed) artwork for print. Don't use it to process unlawful, infringing, or abusive content, and don't try to disrupt, reverse engineer for malicious purposes, or overload the service.
5. Plans, billing, and refunds
Halftone Generator is free to use, with daily export limits and a watermark on free-tier exports. Paid plans (Pro, Studio) remove the watermark and add features like HD/SVG export. Pricing and billing are shared across the DTF Toolbox suite and managed at dtftoolbox.com/pricing.
If a paid plan isn't right for you, email us within the first 14 days and we'll refund the charge — no questions asked.
6. Service availability and changes
We may add, change, or remove features, including presets, plans, and export options, and we may suspend or discontinue the service. We'll try to keep your saved data intact when we do, but we can't guarantee it. The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind.
7. Print outcomes
Halftone Generator helps you prepare artwork, but printing outcomes depend on your press, film, ink, garment, and settings, which are outside our control. Always test-print a small sample before running a full job. We're not liable for print results, wasted materials, or production downtime.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Damn Good Company isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Halftone Generator. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim.
9. Termination
You can stop using Halftone Generator at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for use that violates these terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Halftone Generator that can't be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Swedish courts.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do; continuing to use Halftone Generator after a change means you accept the update.
